Characters drift in and out at a relaxed, almost whimsical pace, accompanying the unconventional voyager on his explorations. There’s a bohemian laissez-faire, a lightness of being that permeates the story. The freedom to choose where and how to begin or end one’s identity―and life―without losing oneself reflects the spirit of our times, and hints at the much-discussed embrace of living in the “here and now.”
