FOLLOW ME: The Cost and the Call of Apostolic Discipleship explores what it truly means to follow Christ beyond words, church attendance, spiritual gifts, and religious activity. It examines the difference between believing in Jesus and living as His disciple—and why genuine discipleship requires surrender, obedience, sacrifice, endurance, and a willingness to be sent.
Through the life and ministry of Jesus, the book examines the foundations of an apostolic lifestyle: obedience to the Father, dependence on the Holy Spirit, prayer, solitude, compassion, service, spiritual discipline, financial integrity, leadership accountability, perseverance, and mission.
But following Christ also raises another important question: How do we recognize God's direction?
The book therefore goes deeper into how believers can approach spiritual guidance responsibly. It explores Scripture, the Holy Spirit, divine revelation, illumination, dreams and visions, spiritual impressions, burdens, promptings, peace, discernment, wise counsel, and the testing of spiritual experiences. Rather than encouraging believers to follow every feeling or impression, it calls them to test what they receive against Scripture and to distinguish God's direction from human thoughts, emotions, desires, and spiritual deception.
At the heart of the book is a simple but demanding truth:
Hearing God is not the destination. Following Him is.
