FNP Pocket Guide 2027 turns current primary care guidelines into clear tables, dosing charts, and red-flag alerts you can scan in seconds between patients. Written for family nurse practitioners, NP students, and new graduates, it covers the conditions you see every day across the lifespan, from newborns to older adults.
Instead of long paragraphs, each topic gets straight to what matters at the point of care: who to screen, what to prescribe, how much to give, when to refer, and which findings mean the patient needs the emergency department now.
INSIDE YOU'LL FIND
- Red flags and office emergencies, including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, anaphylaxis, and hypertensive crisis
- Preventive care: screening schedules, adult and childhood vaccines, PrEP, and tobacco cessation
- Chronic disease management: hypertension, lipids, diabetes, thyroid, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, asthma, COPD, kidney disease, and liver disease
- Acute care by body system: infections, STIs, dermatology, musculoskeletal injuries, neurology, and eye, ear, nose, and throat
- Special populations: contraception, menopause, pregnancy and postpartum care, pediatrics, geriatrics, and mental health and substance use
- Quick-reference appendices: lab values, clinical formulas, decision scores, renal dose adjustments, and major drug interactions
- 22 chapters in four color-coded parts, with thumb tabs along the page edge for fast navigation
- Hundreds of scannable tables with drug names, doses, and key cautions
- Red Flag, Clinical Pearl, and Caution boxes that highlight what you can't afford to miss
- Weight-based pediatric dosing and a full pediatric dosing reference
- A detailed table of contents and index to find any topic quickly
- A clean, highly readable layout printed in full color
Whether you're starting your first NP job, precepting students, or have years of practice behind you, this is the reference you'll keep within reach.
