From the Back Cover
COMPREHENSIVE, EASY TO USE, HIGHLY ILLUSTRATED
This field guide covers every species of mammal found in continental Africa – from the southern shore of the Mediterranean to the Cape of Good Hope – except for a very few small, nocturnal or burrowing species that are very rarely seen. Each family of species has is own introduction, followed by separate species entries which include details on appearance, measurements, weight, distribution, habitat, habits, movement, voice, sense organs, enemies, food, social life, breeding, growth, longevity and subspecific variations. The text is heavily illustrated with distribution maps and black and white and colour illustrations. The combination of text and illustrations makes this guide a vital companion for anyone visiting Africa.
