Illustrated by 8 pages of plates, including one in colour, 2 facsimiles and two real sepia photographs pasted in, including map with manuscript additions, by coloured text figure and by tipped in list of territories acquired from Colonial Office List. Decorated by text vignette and by initial. Brief but well illustrated account of Freemasonry in St. Helena, by Willam James Hughan (1841-1911), writer on freemasonry. At the end are some notes on masonry in other British territories. A very scarce title; Library Hub records only one copy, in the British Library.
