Encadernação artística da época inteira de pele, com ferros decorativos a seco nas pastas e com fechos metálicos (1 em falta). As pastas apresentam tarjas com ferros rolados a seco com figuras alegóricas, Esperança, Caridade, Fé, entre outras. Contém as seguintes obras de Ovídio: Fastos em 6 livros, Trístia em 5 livros e as Cartas do Ponto em 4 livros. Estas obras do grande poeta lírico latino Ovídio são acompanhadas de comentários de Felipe Melanchton, um estudo sobre o significado do movimento das estrelas de Claudio Ptolomeu, traduzido do grego por Nicolau Leónico, um estudo sobre os meses romanos conforme antigos documentos e os seis primeiros livros dos Fastos, acrescentando no final mais comentários do mesmo Melanchton. Este livro tem junto a edição das anotações às Metamorfoses de Ovídio por Henrique Glareano, com folha de rosto própria e cólofon com marca do impressor. Belíssima e rara edição quinhentista de três obras do grande poeta latino Públio Ovídio Nasão (Sulmona 43 a.C. ? Tomis, (actual Constança, na Roménia) 17/18 d.C.) com comentários de humanistas do século XVI e a edição de uma obra de Ptolomeu que ajuda a compreender as descrições de Ovídio nos Fastos, obra poética sobre o calendário romano. As duas últimas obras foram escritas no exílio em Constança nas margens do Mar Negro, onde foi confinado pelo Imperador Augusto por, segundo alguns investigadores, se ter envolvido num escândalo com Júlia, neta do imperador, ou, segundo outros, por este achar as suas poesias imorais. Ovídio é um dos maiores poetas latinos com uma grande importância cultural, por ter exercido uma prolongada e profunda influência na civilização ocidental até aos nossos dias, em especial na poesia, nas artes plásticas e no pensamento. Filipe Melancthon (1497 ? 1560) foi um reformador protestante alemão, amigo e colaborador de Lutero, que se tornou o principal líder dos luteranos após a morte de Lutero. Por este motivo os exemplares existentes em Portugal, das várias edições destes comentários aparecem sempre com o texto rasurado pela Inquisição. Este exemplar será algum dos que escapou, por estar na posse de particulares ou terá sido adquirido no estrangeiro depois do primeiro quartel do século XIX. You may use the attached model cancellation form, but it is not obligatory. You can also electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.
Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel with contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.

The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
