- Book 1 of 1: FANUC Industrial Robotics
Turn FANUC robot theory into production-ready cells — palletizing, spot welding, and vision-guided handling, explained the way an integrator actually builds them.
Most FANUC guides stop at teaching motion. This book starts where they leave off: real palletizing cells, real spot-welding lines, and real pick-and-place stations, built end to end with the TP code, PLC handshakes, and troubleshooting knowledge you need to survive a production shift — not just a demo.
Inside, you'll build all three of FANUC's most common industrial applications from the ground up:
- Palletizing — PalletTool and manual Pallet-PR setup, layer patterns, interlock rotation math, and interrupt-driven fault handling
- Spot welding — servo gun configuration, GunWeldData schedules, tip-dress sequencing, and weld-quality verification
- Material handling — mechanical and vacuum grippers, multi-tool changer verification, and vision-assisted pick/place with iRVision and conveyor tracking
Every chapter pairs working TP code with the reasoning behind it — why FINE termination is mandatory at a weld point, why a pulse beats a level signal for a PLC handshake, why tip wear silently ruins weld quality. Six diagrams illustrate the concepts that are hard to picture from code alone: cell layout, layer patterns, weld sequencing, vision offsets, and PLC signal timing.
The book closes with four real-world case studies, a consolidated fault-diagnosis reference, and eight appendices — including full program listings, a glossary, an instruction index, and printable commissioning checklists — that make this as useful on the shop floor as it is at your desk.
Whether you're commissioning a new cell, maintaining a running line, or moving from motion-level programming into application work, this book gives you the patterns that transfer across every FANUC application you'll ever be asked to build.
Companion volume to Basics of FANUC Industrial Robotics and Advanced FANUC Robot Programming.
