Based on the advice she has provided throughout her twenty years of clinical practice as a sexual therapist, Dr. Sandra R. Scantling has written a new erotic guide to restoring the vital connections that bring couples together and make it possible for them to enjoy extraordinary sex. This is not a sex manual; it is a book about achieving true intimacy--both in and out of the bedroom.
Through storytelling, anecdotes, and an easy-to-complete quiz, readers will learn to identify their own personalities and sexual styles--as well as those of their partners--and so to understand why they each behave as they do and--above all--how they can each modify their styles to achieve Extraordinary Sex Now.
This is an inspirational, must-have guide for any couple seeking to rekindle their passion. Dr. Scantling proves that lovemaking need never grow dull--that it can be an ongoing, joyous event, now and for the rest of our lives.

From the Author
If you're looking for a book that teaches you the finer points of giving great oral sex, this isn't it. The questions that this book addresses have to do with the intrinsic blend of passion and intimacy that I call "Extraordinary Sex." Questions like: Why do we become attracted to partners who are unlike ourselves and then spend the rest of our lives trying to change one another? Why does sexual excitement fade and is it really possible to have lasting passion with the same partner? Why does making love become just another chore? I've spent the last two decades studying intimacy. I've learned personally from my own divorce, and professionally as a licensed clinical psychologist and sex therapist having treated thousands of couples that sex is easy---intimacy is difficult. "Ordinary" sex is mechanical and fairly straight forward--after all, there are only so many ways two pairs of genitals can be intermingled. Although the need for intimacy is universal, our fear of intimacy is equally intense. In Extraordinary Sex Now: A Couple's Guide to Intimacy , I offer practical hints and suggestions for facing your fears and capitalizing on the best qualities in each of you.I believe that the sweet harvest of lasting intimacy often grows out of the rockier terrain of self-discovery. So before you can be intimate with another person, you must first dare to be intimate with yourself. Honesty, self-exploration, motivation, commitment and, of course, communication are key ingredients for extraordinary sex. Many couples want closeness but complain, "We're too tired," or "We're just too busy to make love." They long for a soul-connection but are discouraged by what feels like an overwhelming task with no clear guidelines. They may have ordinary sex one or more times a week, but feel lonely in their partner's arms. My book gives you a road map to bring back the intimacy or create it for the first time. By completing a 20 item quiz you'll discover you and your partner's unique sexual style (either Lion, Bear, Bee, or Otter) with specific suggestions and dozens of case histories to help you improve your communication and deepen your intimacy.I hope you love this book as much as I loved writing it. I believe in it's message and feel there's nothing more important in our lives than the relationships we nurture. Our potential for enjoying extraordinary intimacy is limitless. I encourage you not to be daunted by the challenge, but to move ahead at your own pace and enjoy!
