Hardcover with dustjacket, first printing as stated on copyright page, the book is in excellent condition, clean, crisp and attractive with no major flaws, two minor flaws only: a few tiny dark spots on the top outer page-edge, a portion of pages 208 and 209 are tanned from a newspaper article, the green dustjacket has moderate scuffing and mild tanning on the white-colored rear end-paper, shallow chipping at top edge of spine and corner-tips, the jacket is clean and quite presentable, the original price (3.00) is present and a professional (removable) mylar cover is included, 433 pages, illustrations by Norah Hamilton, "She made her first investigations in white-lead paints, and the cases of lead poisoning which she brought to light were part of the memorable record of the Illinois Survey.she explored the solvents, the war industries of 1917, the smelters, the steel mills, the foundries, and the potteries - searching relentlessly for the possibility of suspected or undiscovered danger to workmen".
