In Explorations Expanded: Bereishit, distinguished educator Rabbi Ari Kahn invites readers on a transformative journey through Sefer Bereishit (Genesis). With breathtaking originality and profound depth, Rabbi Kahn reexamines the stories we thought we knew, opening up new depths of dimensions of meaning, drawing the reader into a dialogue between ancient tradition and modern thought.
Explorations Expanded is a bold and brilliant integration of Torah scholarship, mysticism, literary analysis, and psychological insight. Each chapter in the volume focuses on the weekly parsha, uncovering layers of spiritual and intellectual richness that speak to both the seasoned scholar and the curious layperson.
Rabbi Kahn draws on a sweeping range of classical sources—from Talmud and Midrash to Ramban, Zohar, and the Chasidic masters—while also engaging with modern academic approaches. His writing is enriched by references to Jewish history, comparative mythology, and deep psychological motifs, showing how even the most esoteric midrashim carry timeless relevance. These are not just commentaries—they are interpretive essays that challenge, inspire, and illuminate.
