Allan R. Holmberg, John L. Kennedy, Harold D. Lasswell, and Charles E. Lindblom. Experimental Research in the Behavioral Sciences and Regional Development. Preliminary Draft 1, April 29, 1955. 15 leaves. Mimeographed. Staple bound. With: Appendix A. Illustration of Proposed Research Methods and Projects, by the same authors. No date. Mimeograph. 19 leaves. Staple bound. Both in VG condition though there is some dulling/slight browning of the paper due to the reprographic process. This work is associated with the Cornell Peru / Vicos project and with mid-1950s efforts to apply behavioral science to planned social change and regional development. "(This study) was about using field-based, intervention-oriented social science—not just observation—to study and guide modernization in rural communities. The Vicos project in Peru is the key context: researchers were trying to understand how peasant communities changed under new educational, economic, health, and political arrangements, and to treat that change almost as a large-scale social experiment."--Wikipedia.…
