This book is comprised of 27 autobiographical cases written as a requirement for a clinical course on the psychology of adolescence by graduate and undergraduate students. The cases exhibit a wide variety of racial and ethnic backgrounds, social classes and religions, and highlight the conflicts that young people feel in the areas of autonomy, identity and sexual intimacy as they make their transition from the bosom of family life out into the world. About the Author: George W. Goethals has been Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Harvard University since 1975. Dennis S. Klos currently works for the California School of Professional Psychology.
