The 2024 IAIN World Congress, held from October 28th – 30th, at the Beijing International Convention Center, brought together over 350 participants and 31 delegates from all over the world to discuss cutting-edge advancements in navigation and maritime technology.
Organized by the International Association of Institutes of Navigation (IAIN) and hosted by the China Institute of Navigation (CIN), the Congress delved into the latest technological trends, research, and industry developments in satellite navigation, autonomous shipping, maritime safety, and the integration of 5G, IoT, AI, and big data. This book provides an overview of key discussions, research findings, and milestones in the field, showcasing the collaborative efforts shaping the future of global maritime safety.

About the Author
Chen Shijun is Director of the Editorial Department of the Chinese Society of Navigation. He is responsible for the editing and publication of the journals China Navigation and Navigation Technology, organizing and implementing the high-quality scientific journal grading directory project in the field of navigation, and promoting innovative application of Chinese and English journals in terms of equivalence, scientific achievements and talent. He has also served as the project leader in the development of the National Government Service Platform for Water Transport and Maritime Administrative Approval System and has organized the implementation and drafting of national and industry standards, including the Port and Shipping Data Resource Directory and Electronic Certificates for Waterway Transport.
Dong Siwen holds a master’s degree in Human Resource Development Policies from the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal. She currently serves as an Editor at the Navigation of China and Navigation Technology editorial offices of the China Institute of Navigation, with intermediate qualifications in publishing. Specializing in the publication of scientific journals, she organizes international academic conferences and oversees the publication of conference proceedings, notably as the lead editor and coordinator for the IAIN 2024 World Congress Proceedings. She has contributed to projects such as the China Association for Science and Technology’s High-Quality Journal Grading Directory and was a key contributor to the first prize-winning projects in the 2022 and 2023 Navigation Science and Technology Progress Awards of CIN. Her research interests include green shipping development, enhancing the academic impact of international journals, and integrated publishing development.
Guo Weihua was born in 1972. She graduated from the School of Continuing Education of Renmin University of China, majoring in International Economics and Trade. She holds an Intermediate Certificate for Professional Qualifications of Publishing Professionals. Currently, she is working as the Director of the Academic Exchange Department at the China Institute of Navigation. Over the years, she has been committed to providing support and services for marine science and technology workers and building high - level academic exchange platforms. By organizing various international academic conferences and other activities, she has promoted technological innovation and knowledge sharing in the field of navigation, facilitated the dissemination and promotion of academic achievements, and made significant contributions to the development of marine science and technology and the cultivation of talents.
Wang Yan holds a master's degree in English Translation from Dalian Maritime University and currently serves as the Special Project Director of the Academic Exchange Department at the China Institute of Navigation. Specializing in international exchange and cooperation in maritime technology, she has extensive experience in organizing international academic conferences. As the coordinator of international review experts for IAIN World Congress 2024, she oversees the entire paper review process, including initial and final review organization, score compilation, expert confirmation, and the coordination of paper presentation sessions. Her research interests focus on English translation and international academic exchange mechanisms.
Zhang Feifei is Associate Editor of the Editorial Department at the Chinese Society of Navigation. She is responsible for the editing and publication of the journals China Navigation and Navigation Technology. Zhang has organized and implemented several provincial and ministerial-level projects, including the "National Society-hosted Journal Publishing Capacity Improvement Plan" and the "High-Quality Scientific Journal Grading Directory in the Field of Navigation." She is dedicated to researching ways to enhance the academic influence of scientific journals in the field of navigation and supports technological innovation in the maritime sector.
Liu Yang is currently an editor for China Navigation and Navigation Technology. His research focuses on maritime culture, smart shipping, maritime technology, and green shipping. He has participated in the implementation of the high-quality scientific journal grading directory project in the field of navigation and promoting innovative application of Chinese and English journals in terms of equivalence, scientific achievements and talent. Additionally, he contributed to the Research on the Construction of the Scientific and Technological Popularization System in the Transportation Industry project. The research outcomes were adopted by the Ministry of Transport’s Guiding Opinions on Strengthening the Popularization of Science and Technology in Transportation, and the results won the "Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress." He also participated in writing and publishing the book Research and Practice on the Construction of the Scientific and Technological Popularization System in the Transportation Industry.
Wang Yuxiang has been working in the publishing industry for five years. He holds an intermediate-level certification for publishing professionals and is a certified dive master. He currently serves as Editor at the Chinese Society of Navigation. Over the years, he has been dedicated to publishing books in the field of marine science. He provided technical support for this book.
Ma Erdan holds a master's degree in finance and graduated from the University of Plymouth, UK. She is an intermediate economist and has established a good reputation in the workplace for his professionalism and patience. Currently, she is involved in organizing activities such as international academic conferences at the China Institute of Navigation.

Returns Policy
We ask all customers to contact us for authorisation should they wish to return their order. Orders returned without authorisation may not be credited.
If you wish to return, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to obtain authorisation.
Returns requested beyond this time will not be authorised.

Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer you can withdraw from the contract in accordance with the following. Consumer means any natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside his trade, business, craft or profession.

Statutory right to withdraw
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right of withdrawal, electronically fill in and submit a clear statement on our website, under "My Purchases" in "My Account". We will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a withdrawal on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to withdraw from this contract.
We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent back the goods, whichever is the earliest.
You shall send back the goods or hand them over to PBShop.store UK, Fairford, United Kingdom, +44 1285 712917, without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from the day on which you communicate your withdrawal from this contract to us. The deadline is met if you send back the goods before the period of 14 days has expired. You will have to bear the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
Exceptions to the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal does not apply to:
- The delivery of newspapers, journals or magazines with the exception of subscription contracts; and
- The supply of digital content which is not supplied on a tangible medium (e.g. on a CD or DVD) if you accepted when you placed your order that we could start to deliver it, and that you could not withdraw once delivery had started.
