About the Author

N� au Havre le 21 f�vrier 1903, Raymond Queneau est romancier, po�te, dramaturge et math�maticien. Il fait ses �tudes au lyc�e du Havre puis � la facult� des Lettres de Paris. Apr�s avoir fr�quent� le groupe surr�aliste, dont il subit l'influence, il entre en 1938 aux �ditions Gallimard o� il est lecteur, traducteur de l'anglais puis membre du comit� de lecture. Cofondateur de l'OuLiPo, membre de l'Acad�mie Concourt � partir de 1951, il a �galement dirig� l'Encyclop�die de la Pl�iade. Parmi ses nombreuses oeuvres, citons Exercices de style, Zazie dans le m�tro, Les Fleurs bleues. Il meurt � Paris le 25 octobre 1976.
