The publisher's presentation copy of this fascinating study of the development of English handwriting, presented to Richard William Hunt, who assisted in this work. The publisher's presentation copy, letter tipped in to the recto to the front endpaper, signed from F. G. Emmison, who was a County Archivist for Essex. P. Grieve. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, generally smart, with some light marks to the boards and spine. Spine is faded. Light bumping to the spine and extremities. Bookplate and prior owner's ink inscription to the front paste down. Publisher's letter tipped in to the recto to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good.
