Crown8vo, engraved title with vignette and printd title, xlvi, [ii], 340, [2 - index], [1 - Albion list]; [iv], 374, [13 - index], [1 - directions for placing the 9 engraved plates] p. Full brown speckled polished calf, gilt rules and devices on backstrip, titles gilt on black lettering pieces. Triangles 50 x 7 and 80 x 7mm cut from top edge of both printed titles, not affecting printing, tissue guards present but browned, a few small areas of surface rubbing of calf, contemporary ink inscription Sarah Anne Cooke and Adelphi in a different hand at head of both titles otherwise an attractive and very clean and tight set. The title continues: Includes a biographical account of the author and a sketch of his character and works.
