Item description from seller

Navy hardcover with title in white on spine. Condition: Very good, binding sound, text clean, no inscriptions. Dustjacket condition: Very good, with just a hint of shelfwear. 159pp. 185 colour illustrations. This book displays the complete collection of textiles of the 1920s from the Chemnitz Textile and Handicrafts Collection, one of the largest such collections in Europe. Examples of textile art from Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Great Britain are included and document general currents in textile design during the 1920s as well as regional preferences and short-lived fashion trends. As well as the many mechanically produced decorative and uplholstery fabrics, the collection also features materials made by hand-weaving in the Bauhaus centres of Weimar and Dessau.
