Hardcover with dust jacket showing signs of wear to corners, edges and tearing to head of spine. Some markings and sun fading to jacket. Blue covers with gold lettering to spine. Mild wear noted to tail of spine. This book first published in 1923. Pages clean and unmarked with many illustrations. This volume is lavishly illustrated from examples in the authors' private collections, which have not been reproduced elsewhere. As specialists with an unequalled knowledge of their subject, the authors have achieved an outstandingly detailed and informative study both of the mechanism and the artistic embellishment of the weapons described; the book is a necessity to every collector and amateur of firearms.
