His Essay on Man (first published between 1732-1734) attempts to "vindicate the ways of God to Man" and assumes that man has fallen and must seek his own salvation.Register: [A2], B-Q6, R2. Collated, complete. Bound in full speckled calf.Externally, with rubbing to the extremities and loss to the head of the spine. Slight cracking to the joints, but remaining firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned, but generally clean, with a few contemporary ink inscriptions to the front and rear endpapers. Occasional spots. Good.
