Print on Demand. This book is about formal logic, which is the study of correct reasoning. It is a necessary part of philosophy, which is defined as the science of all things from the point of view of their highest and last causes, as far as this knowledge can be reached by the light of natural reason. In this book, the author argues that the human mind, by its very nature, is able to attain truth. They discuss the two-fold division of logic, with Minor Logic or Dialectics which deals with the correctness of our thought processes, and Major Logic or Critical Logic which deals with the truth and correctness of our mental operations. The author explores and defines the various relationships between concepts in our reasoning, including their agreement, disagreement, and opposition. This book will be of interest to students of philosophy and logic, as well as anyone interested in developing their critical thinking skills. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. …
