From television to the car radio, music fills our lives. But beyond enjoyment, we can purposefully use music to heal body, mind, and spirit, says Dr. Louise Montello. Through clinical practice and research, she has discovered what she calls Essential Musical Intelligence, our innate ability to use sound to bypass the conscious mind and move directly into deeper levels of being where true healing can occur. Montello leads readers on a systematic musical journey of clinically proven exercises to balance and harmonize all levels of being--the body, the breath/energy, the mind, the imagination/intellect, and the realm of bliss--leading to deep and lasting change. The book is full of case histories and personal stories about the remarkable results of integrating EMi into one's life. To help us do the same, Dr. Montello refers to all kinds of music, from classical to drumming, and offers simple practices for using EMI in the workplace, for increasing vitality, and for overcoming grief and pain.…
