From the popular author of What's That as Gaeilge?, a one stop shop for anyone learning or re-learning the Irish language.
Everyone's favourite Irish teacher is back! Following from the success of previous books in this series, What's That as Gaeilge, What's That as Béarla and Proverbs in Irish, as well as his magnum opus, Teasáras Gaeilge-Béarla, Garry Bannister returns with another user-friendly guide for those of all ages who want to speak Irish with strangers, friends and family.
Accessibly laid out, Essential Irish is a study manual that covers all the basic primarily language skills in a one-page-one-topic dialogue format. With a special section for those preparing for the Irish Leaving Cert oral, buzz charts, jokes and 20 dialogues in Ulster Irish, this book is an ideal travel companion for beginners or for those who might want to brush up on their forgotten school Irish.
Probably unique to this Irish language manual is the QR code on the back cover that provides readings of all the conversations in the dialogue sections and in the ten short reading passages at the end of the book. Last but not least, this learning manual provides short lists of proverbs, idioms and other materials that are more comprehensively covered in the other books in this series.
