Print on Demand. This book is an intriguing play from the early 20th Century, set in 1999, that peers into the evolving roles of men and women in marriage at the advent of the 20th Century. It tells the story of a married couple whose domestic life unravels as a result of Jean's neglect of her husband, Rollo. Overwhelmed by her social life, Jean leaves Rollo alone with their child most nights while she enjoys the company of other women. Rollo is drawn into an emotional affair with Florence, a woman from his past. The play follows the bitter consequences of Jean and Rollo's fractured marriage and starkly portrays the impact of societal expectations on men and women in relationships during a time of rapid social change. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.
