Divorce in North Carolina doesn't have to mean a courtroom battle, overwhelming legal fees, or strangers making life-altering decisions for your family.
In End Your Marriage Peacefully, collaborative family law attorney and certified mediator Manisha P. Patel provides a clear, practical roadmap for navigating separation with intention and stability. Drawing on years of experience guiding clients through North Carolina's complex court system, she explains what actually happens in a divorce and how to approach it strategically.
Inside, you'll learn:
- How divorce works in North Carolina, including timelines, legal requirements, and common misconceptions
- The difference between litigation, mediation, and collaborative law, and when each approach makes sense
- Why the vast majority of cases settle outside of trial and how to position yours to do the same
- What to expect financially and how to avoid unnecessary debt
- How to create thoughtful agreements regarding property, support, children, and pets
Divorce is not simply a legal event. It is a transition. With clarity, structure, and the right process, it can be handled with less conflict and more control, allowing you to move forward with confidence.
