Empire of Broken Magic
For a thousand years, the world has lived with broken magic.
The ancient Sundering shattered the source of magic and buried the First Kingdom beneath legend, leaving behind scattered Keys, forgotten Keepers, and an Empire determined to control what remains.
Kael of Grey Hollow never wanted to be part of that history.
After his village is destroyed and a mysterious power awakens within him, Kael discovers that he is more than an ordinary survivor. He is an Heir of the First Kingdom-and the ancient Keys are calling to him.
With the Empire hunting him, Kael joins forces with Lyra, a fierce warrior who refuses to abandon him, and a small group of Keepers who know the truth about the world's forgotten past. Their journey takes them through ruined kingdoms, hidden sanctuaries, deadly vaults, ancient forests, and the dangerous Deep Roads where broken magic still flows.
But the Keys are not simply weapons.
They are pieces of a power that was never meant to be owned.
As Kael gathers the ancient Keys and uncovers the truth behind the Sundering, the Emperor prepares to use their power to rebuild an empire that has ruled through fear for generations. And when the final pieces of the broken magic awaken, Kael must face a choice greater than defeating the Empire.
He must decide what the world should become after its old rulers fall.
A broken world.
Five ancient Keys.
One forgotten heir.
And a final battle that will decide whether magic becomes a weapon once again-or the force that finally heals a wounded world.
