Reimagine Family Harmony Without Emotional Chaos
Parenting today often means navigating outbursts, shutdowns, overstimulation, and the daily pressure of balancing your own stress with your child's emotional needs. It's overwhelming - and you're not alone.
But emotional chaos doesn't have to be your family's norm. With the right tools, you can turn challenging moments into opportunities for connection and growth.
Does this sound familiar?
Public emotional outbursts leave you feeling stressed, embarrassed, or helpless.
You want age-appropriate ways to teach emotions - but nothing seems to stick.
Your own stress makes it hard to stay calm and supportive.
Older kids struggle with social media pressure, emotional overwhelm, or shutting down.
You wish you had a clear, grounded approach that actually works for busy families.
There is a better way - one rooted in connection, clarity, and practical emotional skills.
Emotional Regulation for Parents is a comprehensive, easy-to-use guide filled with strategies that help families move from tension and confusion to confidence and calm. Designed for parents and educators alike, this book blends real-life examples with evidence-based practices that fit into even the busiest routines.
Inside, you'll discover:
- Age-specific strategies for toddlers through teens
- Mindfulness practices that strengthen family bonds without adding pressure
- Simple, actionable steps that integrate seamlessly into daily life
- How modern stressors - including social media - impact emotional development
- Tools to manage your own stress so you can better support your child
- Real-life examples and case studies that show these strategies in action
- Therapy-informed techniques including CBT and DBT, explained simply
- Emotional literacy activities to build vocabulary, empathy, and self-awareness
- Resilience-building exercises kids actually enjoy
- Positive reinforcement methods that encourage long-term behavioral change
- Ways to create emotional safety at home and in the classroom
...and much more.
Even if other books or strategies haven't helped, this guide offers a fresh, realistic approach that meets your family where it is - without judgment, complexity, or unrealistic expectations.
Whether you're a parent trying to bring more calm into your home or an educator supporting emotional growth in the classroom, this book gives you the practical tools to make meaningful change starting today.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
