This is the 60th Thousand Edition, published by Richard Bentley & Son, Publishers in Ordinary to Her Majesty the Queen, 1897. 12mo, 19.7 cm x 13.2 cm x 2.8 cm, Green cloth-covered boards, Gilt embossed lettering on spine, Black embossed lettering on front cover, Sorry, no dust-jacket. 456 pages. Weight: 578 Grams. CONTENTS ARE LIKE NEW!!! However, cover & spine are worn, rubbed, scuffed, discoloured and very marked/stained. Book leans. Spine is soft alongside front cover, slight damage at tail, bumped and scuffed either end, gilt dull & worn. Cover's edges & corners bumped, boards exposed and split in cloth on 3 corners, cloth split on back cover alongside spine. Crack in middle of 1st end paper head & tail of spine area. Some pages (very few) have corner folds. Some pages have rough-cut edges, and/or are unevenly cut. 3 cracks forming throughout the book, no loose pages! Crack exposing hinges between p. 448 & p. 449. Page 367/368 has small tear on vertical edge. Faint marks in bottom corner of p. 429/430 both sides. Splits in middle of last end paper at spine area. Light age tanning & very occasional foxing throughout, more pronounced on end papers & edges. RARE ITEM, GENUINE ANTIQUE! EXCELLENT CONDITION INSIDE!!!
