Maroon cloth with stamped designs. 7.25 inches tall; 338 pages. The bindings are tight and square. Text clean, light even toning. Moderate shelf handling wear. Probably a 1906 printing. The dust jacket has evenly toned with a small loss on the top spine tip and wear on the lower spine. Light shelf handling Now in a new protective Mylar sleeve. Uncommon in a dust jacket. [Photos show a reflection from Mylar]. Elsie's family grows as she welcomes new relatives and faces challenging situations, all while staying true to her faith and fostering love and unity among her loved ones. Background Information: Martha Finley was a 19th century American author of children's stories. Her characters were good children rewarded for their high moral character. She wrote Elsie Dinsmore in 1867. Elsie was a virtuous Christian girl who resisted small temptations. Finley wrote 27 books about Elsie taking her through her adult life and ending with her as a grandmother. This series was popular in the United States and in Britain selling over 25,000,000 books.
