Small 4to, pp. 32; mounted photographic frontispiece portrait, 11 illustrations on rectos and versos of 3 plates; original brown cloth stamped in gilt on the upper cover; newspaper shadow on title page, else very good and sound. Elodie was the daughter of Herbert Cyrus Farnum the landscape painter known for his paintings of Africa where he spent much time with his wife and Elodie. She was a talented violinist, some say a musical genius, and her untimely death in 1914 was a devastating loss to him and precipitated also the loss of his wife a few years later. Included here are 7 poems by her.
