Teal and yellow illustrated cover in washable cloth, called a "doubleday prebound edition". Pictorial of a child holding a tiny baby bird. Book is about a child finding and watching a family of Blue Jays grow up in her front yard. Signed and inscribed by both author and illustrator, dated 1979. Book is near fine, except for owner name, and jacket is price clipped ( though it still has a $2.95 price sticker affixed) with some scuffing, a 2" and a 1/2 " closed tear to the back and 1/2 " closed tear to top back flap fold, and a 1" by 1/2 " chip to top front.
