Item description from seller

[RACE]. Joe R. Feagin, Kimberly Ducey. "Elite White Men Ruling: Who, What, When, Where, and How." New York and London: Routledge, 2017 [2022]. English language. Softcover with printed card wrappers. Nonfiction academic social theory text in eight chapters with introduction, epilogue, notes, and index. 9 x 6 inches. 18 oz. [10], 318 pp. Abrasions to back wrapper. Sticker residue on spine and back wrapper. Small tear to bottom of spine. Former P-o-D copy. Text clean. Good. ISBN: 9781138191822. "This book examines the 'who, what, when, where, and how' of elite-white-male dominance in US and global society. In spite of their domination in the United States and globally that we document herein, elite white men have seldom been called out and analyzed as such. They have received little to no explicit attention with regard to systemic racism issues, as well as associated classism and sexism issues. Almost all public and scholarly discussions of US racism fail to explicitly foreground elite white men or to focus specifically on how their interlocking racial, class, and gender statuses affect their globally powerful decisionmaking. Some of the power positions of these elite white men might seem obvious, but they are rarely analyzed for their extraordinary significance. While the principal focus of this book is on neglected research and policy questions about the elite-white-male role and dominance in the system of racial oppression in the United States and globally, because of their positioning at the top of several societal hierarchies the authors periodically address their role and dominance in other oppressive hierarchies.".

Store description

I sell uncommon art catalogs, academic monographs, and prints, as well as rare ephemera such as posters and zines. I ship from Brooklyn, New York. I am an alum of the Rare Book School and the Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar, as well as Indiana University and the Ohio State University. I started in the trade at the Wexner Center for the Arts bookstore, and I have previously worked for the Columbus Metropolitan Library, the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library and Museum, the Art Institute of Chicago's Department of Prints and Drawings, and the Indiana University Art Museum's center for Prints, Drawings, and Photographs. More recently, I was the rare book cataloger at Donald Heald Rare Books, for whom I worked the ABAA's New York International Antiquarian Book Fair.
