Paperback. Endocrinologists Maha Abboud, MD, and Terri Washington, MD, consult with hundreds of patients a week who are worried about losing weight and leading healthier and more active lives. With more than twenty years of medical practice, Abboud and Washington have seen numerous causes and effects of obesity. They have compiled their experience and expertise into this revolutionary new health and fitness guide exploring the many different facets of weight loss and healthy living. Abboud and Washington have studied the effects of different hormonal changes on the body. They understand that people do not become obese due to "lack of willpower," as many fitness programs claim. Instead, obesity can be caused by any number of factors beyond your control. While you may not be able to control your past weight gain, you can control how to lose the weight and keep it off. Abboud and Washington walk readers through a number of options, from medications to surgery to simple stress-relief exercises. By truly understanding the biology behind obesity, readers will have a better foundation for taking positive action. Let Abboud and Washington help you take the first step to a leaner, meaner you.
