Print on Demand. This book was written to introduce engineering students to the fundamentals of physics. The author has attempted to simplify and present some essential facts of elementary physics as briefly and straightforwardly as possible. It was created with the beginner in mind, avoiding historical determinations of physical constants and describing the simplest and most direct methods, merely indicating where refinements might be made. At the same time, no sacrifices of fundamental principle have been made and no attempt has been made to advance with insufficient lines of communication. This book is written in an engaging, readable style, and the author hopes that this will encourage more engineering students to recognize the importance of physics as a foundation to their field. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
