Of particular interest is the Hofstadter paper (with 1400+ citations), an area in which he worked for some time and for which he was awarded the 1961 Nobel Prize in Physics (together with Rudolf Mössbauer) "for his pioneering studies of electron scattering in atomic nuclei and for his consequent discoveries concerning the structure of nucleons". Also in this issue: Dennis GABOR, "Theory of Electron Interference Experiments". (Gabor was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics 1971 "for his invention and development of the holographic method.").
