Key features:
This book is written for graduate students and researchers in electrochemistry, physical chemistry, and renewable energy.
Ramesh K. Guduru (Ph.D. in Nanomaterials from NC State University) is a member of faculty at Pandit Deendayal Energy University, India, and founded a start-up, GreenXcel Technologies, that specializes in circular economy with a focus on green energy solutions. Prior to that, he was a full-time member of faculty at Texas State University for five years and also worked as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Michigan and as a Chief Scientist at CSquared Innovations LLC. Dr. Guduru has more than 12 years of experience in rechargeable batteries and supercapacitors, has published more than 110 articles, seven book chapters, and holds four international patents and has two Indian patents pending, and has served on review panels for NSF-USA, QNRF-QATAR, Skolkovo Foundation-RUSSIA, and SNF-Switzerland.
Saravanakumar Balasubramaniam is a Junior Scientist at SARP-LARPM, Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. He received a doctoral degree from Jeju National University, Jeju, Republic of Korea. His research focuses on developing new materials and fabrication techniques for energy harvesting applications, as well as new types of self-powered devices. Similarly, he is working in the field of energy storage devices such as supercapacitors and batteries in the area of and aqueous-based electrolytes. He published more than 70 articles in peer-reviewed journals with approximately 4100 citations and an H-index of 37.
Venkateswarlu Manne, MSc, M.Phil, Ph.D., served as a Director at Customized Energy Solutions India, leading cutting-edge storage technology development for E-Mobility and ESS, and is presently working as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Kushmanda Power Ltd at Chandigarh. Prior to that, he worked with Amara Raja Batteries Ltd, Electrotherm, HBL, and conducted post-doctoral research on next-gen lithium-ion batteries at NTUST, Taiwan. His areas of expertise include solid electrolyte research, advanced batteries, technology licensing, project management, and pilot-scale production. Collaborating closely with research institutions, he optimizes resource utilization to deliver groundbreaking solutions in the energy domain. As a co-author of numerous articles, he significantly contributes to electrochemical and power sources research. He has received prestigious awards, including Best Research Scientist, Industrial Researcher of the Year, and Leadership in Clean Mobility awards, for his unwavering dedication to advancing Li-ion battery tech for e-mobility and ESS applications.
Ananthakumar Ramadoss is a Scientist at the Advanced Research School for Technology & Product Simulation (ARSTPS), Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET), Chennai, India. He received his PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jeju National University, South Korea (2015), and PhD degree in Physics from Bharathidasan University, India (2024). He was a Scientist (Jr) at CIPET: SARP-LARPM, Bhubaneswar, India (2016–2022); Alexander Von Humboldt postdoctoral fellow at the University of Konstanz, Germany (2016); a postdoctoral fellow at the KAIST, Korea (2015–2016); and a research fellow at the CSIR-CECRI, India (2009–2011). His research interests mainly focus on developing nanostructured materials and their applications in supercapacitors, nanogenerators, self-powered systems, 3D printing, thin films, corrosion protection, and bio-implant applications. He has an accomplished track record of publications in high-impact journals (more than 100), more than 20 book chapters, and two patents. Also, he has received more than 20 awards and prestigious fellowships. In addition, he has guided three PhD theses, 12 Masters theses, four Bachelors theses and trained eight research personnel. In addition, he has completed two ongoing sponsored national and four sponsored international projects in the respective areas. Further, three mentor projects and eight national and international internships/workshops/PAC meetings have been accomplished.
Rambabu Bobba is a professor of physics at Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge (SUBR). He earned his Ph.D. in Physics in 1982 from the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras/Chennai. After completing his post-doctoral assignments at the University of Minnesota and the University of New Orleans, he became a faculty member in the Department of Physics at SUBR in 1986. During his tenure at SUBR, he published 125 papers and several extended abstracts and successfully completed visiting professor assignments in AT&T Bell Laboratories, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Dow Chemical Company, University of West Indies, US-DOD, Office of Naval Research, and finally as USIEF-Fulbright Fellow in India. His research encompasses the design and development of low-cost, more efficient nanoionics materials that can facilitate widespread commercialization of electrochemical energy storage and conversion technologies such as lithium batteries, supercapacitors, fuel cells (HT-PEMFCs and LT-SOFCs), and solar hydrogen to address the world's energy and environmental challenges.
