Print on Demand. This book delves into the underhanded practices and societal pressures that corrupt the fairness and accuracy of elections. The author argues that the growing influence of wealth and special interests in politics has created a system where true democracy is an illusion. The book presents numerous historical and contemporary examples of bribery, intimidation, and other tactics used to sway voters. The author calls for a shift in public opinion and a return to the fundamental principles of a just and equitable electoral process. These insights offer a compelling look at the threats to democratic elections and emphasize the need for vigilance in safeguarding the integrity of our political system. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.

- Political Theory and History
The object of the book is to draw attention to electioneering practices which make elections un real, foster dishonesty, and degrade the standard of public life; and to suggest certain amendments of the law. The aim is to give the reader the means of judging for himself. With the facts before him he will be able to say how far the conclusions are well or ill founded.
The first five chapters illustrate certain practices habitually carried on in almost every part of Eng.
