Synopsis:

"Schulerbach 3" offers progression and continuity from stages 1 and 2 but stresses the same user-friendly features as in the first two stages: the target language is used throughout and there is emphasis on differentiation by teachers, rather than labelling tasks and students. Audio recordings in another resource pack build on existing listening skills. The course progesses in manageable steps. Moving away from the thematic context of stages 1 and 2, each unit in stage 3 offers a separate relevant context such as: business, environmental issues, the theatre, and advertising to reflect the interests of the target group. Each unit has a self-access assignment at the end, which allows pupils to revise all the languge learned in the unit. More cross-curricular themes are incorporated into stage 3. Progression has been carefully interwoven to allow repetition, consolidation and progression from stages 1 and 2.
