NB: The Eighteenth Century Background: Studies on the Idea of Nature in the Thought of the Period is a landmark work of intellectual history and literary criticism written by British scholar Basil Willey and first published in 1940. Willey’s text remains a staple reading in university courses on Enlightenment history and English literature. It bridges the gap between historical philosophy and literary analysis, helping readers understand the intellectual currents that birthed modern Western thought. The volume is in perfect, pristine condition, unmarked, unread, tight, square and clean. AS NEW. 12mo 7" - 7½" tall. 302 pages As New No dust jacket as issued.
