Paperback. Grandpa is turning eighty, and his grandchildren can't wait to celebrate! As they gather in the historic mining town of Obuasi, Ghana, Grandpa shares the special way he counts his life, not by single years, but by tens. Through his stories, the children discover that every ten years is filled with cherished memories, important lessons, and reasons to be grateful. Inspired by Grandpa's journey, the grandchildren set a joyful goal: to cheer him on as he reaches ten tens, one hundred years! More than a counting book, Eight Tens and Counting is a celebration of family, culture, and the wisdom passed from one generation to the next. Young readers will enjoy learning to count by tens while discovering the warmth of a Ghanaian family and traditions that bring loved ones together. As a special bonus, the book includes a simple recipe for Eto, a beloved Ghanaian dish, inviting families to continue the adventure in their own kitchen. Perfect for children ages 4-8, this heartwarming picture book encourages early math skills, cultural appreciation, family connections, and a love of learning. It is an excellent choice for home libraries, classrooms, grandparents, and anyone looking to share stories that celebrate both heritage and togetherness. This item is printed on demand.
