Can we train and retrain them? Discover how your brain learns and how to optimize your mental growth with David Bueno, author of The Adolescent Brain. Understanding the human brain, how it is structured and how it works, is the key to being able to change it, retraining our own brains while helping our children and students. The brain is the organ of thought, where all our behaviors are generated. It makes it possible for us to acquire knowledge and new experiences and give them meaning, changing how we perceive and relate to our environment and ourselves. The brain is also where we dream, an activity that allows us to imagine as many possible futures as we can or want to entertain. Our minds and our brains are not fixed in time. They can grow and continue to broaden our horizons. This book explains why that continued growth is necessary, the cognitive benefits it offers, and how we can optimize it to achieve a better, more dignified and empowered existence by understanding the structure of our brains and how they work, are formed, and are constantly being renewed.
