Walter Bagehot (1826 1877) was an English journalist, businessman, and essayist, who wrote extensively about government, economics, literature and race. The editor, Richard Holt Hutton (1826 1897) was an English journalist of literature and religion. He worked with Walter Bagehot as co-editor of the National Review founded in 1855. From the Library of William Henry Grenfell (1855-1945) with bookplate on the inside front board.Nicely bound by Ratcharge Piccadilly with their faint binders stamp on the inside front blank.
