Add to basketPaperback. The Echoing Gate is the second novel in Robert E. Eden's dark fantasy horror series, The Third Path, and a powerful expansion of the world first introduced in The Shattered Veil. In this installment, the fragile boundary between the living world and the shadowed realm beyond begins to split apart, revealing a truth more unsettling than anything the survivors believed possible. The Veil is weakening, and something ancient has begun to awaken within the cracks.Rachael, David, Emily, Jonah, and Selene each carry scars-some spoken, some still buried-but the events surrounding the first breach of the Veil have left a deeper resonance inside them. Strange echoes, shifting memories, and glimpses of impossible shapes begin to intrude on their lives, pulling them toward a reckoning they cannot avoid. As they attempt to understand what is happening, they discover that the phenomenon is not random, nor is it merely a haunting. A sentient force known only as the Echoform has begun pushing through, reshaping emotion, bending memory, and reaching for those who are most vulnerable to its call. What begins as subtle distortions quickly becomes a terrifying unraveling. Emily struggles to understand the connection between her mother's voice and the harmonics of the Veil. Rachael confronts the weight of choices she hoped she would never face again. Jonah, already haunted by what he witnessed, feels the Echoform tug at the edges of his mind. Selene, whose strength once held the group together, must now face a truth that could cost her everything. And David, the anchor of the group, discovers that courage in the face of the unknown demands a heavier price than he ever imagined. As the Echoform gains strength, its influence pushes the characters toward a convergence none of them are prepared for. The forces moving behind the Veil are no longer content to remain hidden, and their intentions are far from benign. What the group uncovers about the nature of the Echoform, the origin of the Veil, and the cost of crossing it will reshape everything they thought they understood about their world-and themselves.Blending psychological tension, supernatural dread, and deep emotional stakes, The Echoing Gate builds on the foundation of the first book while elevating the danger, intimacy, and scope. Eden's storytelling explores the terrifying power of memory, the bonds formed under pressure, and the sacrifices demanded when light is pitted against an ancient and patient darkness. This haunting second installment leads directly toward revelations that will challenge every belief the characters hold and set the stage for the deeper mysteries that lie ahead. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
