Dear Reader,
There’s a fire shut up in my bones—and this book is part of that flame.
Over the summer, I had the sacred privilege to preach to students gathered at Christian youth camps. What God did in those spaces was not simply about a sermon—it was about an encounter. A moment where the living Word of God met the brokenness of this generation and brought light, truth, and power.
I didn’t just preach about David… I became David in the cave.
I didn’t just explain Samson’s fall… I walked blind and bound through the ruins.
I didn’t just teach the text… I embodied it.
This book is more than a collection of sermons—it’s a movement.
A movement toward preaching that breathes, that feels, that lives and moves and walks in the shoes of Scripture’s most memorable voices. It’s a homiletical laboratory for those who dare to step into the text and tell the truth from the inside out.
Young preacher, hear me:
We don’t need more entertainers.
We don’t need more opinionated influencers.
We need biblical firebrands who can exegete the text and ignite the heart.
We need preachers who can lift the Scripture off the page and let it speak in first person—with boldness, with clarity, and with urgency.
This book was born in the trenches of summer ministry—but it’s meant for the pulpit, the classroom, the street corner, and the dorm room chapel. These 11 sermons are written for those who want to learn the art of first-person preaching—a method that blends imagination with interpretation, voice with vision, and truth with tone.
So, if you’re a preacher-in-training, a teacher of the Word, or a pastor seeking a fresh wind—this is for you.
I dare you to study these sermons.
I dare you to feel the text.
I dare you to pray, weep, wrestle, and then rise… and preach like it’s the last time you ever will.
Because preaching still matters.
Because the Gospel still works.
Because Jesus still saves.
And because there’s a generation waiting on your voice to echo His Word.
Preach the text.
Preach the truth.
Preach in power.
Preach for souls.
Preach for the glory of God.
Because eternity is listening.
