5 Star Reviewed children's book from Reader's Favorite.
A fun rhyming tale with a solid message, says Kirkus Reviews.
Let's Eat Together is about getting along no matter how different we are. It's all about spending quality time with each other.
Come along as Mr. Squirrel invites a large group of animals, that normally would not be seen spending time with each other, to enjoy a meal together at a table in the woods. The book portrays a positive message for children while promoting healthy eating, and good manners at the same time. THE AUTHOR, REID KAPLAN, IS DONATING PART OF ALL PROCEEDS TO FEEDING THE HUNGRY CHILDREN IN THE USA.
All are invited to join in on the feast,
bring your good manners and don't be a beast.
This story is perfect for children ages 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 years old. It has a rhyming style like Mother Goose or Dr. Seuss. With rhymes reminiscent of Green Eggs and Ham, and The Cat in the hat, with an important underlying message such as The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. As technology continues to advance we must not forget that talking to each other is healthy and super important for us to continue to always do. Read this book with your children and let's keep this tradition alive and well.
Kirkus Reviews
A squirrel invites every animal in the forest to sit down at a table that s laden with fruits and vegetables. In rhyming text, Kaplan plays with naming conventions in several languages: Mrs. Cat, Mr. Dog / Señor Bird, Monsieur Frog. A wolf and a lamb sit next to a blue, polka-dot rabbit; other animals include bears, insects, a porcupine, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and a calf. An image of the entire table shows the group getting along and behaving courteously. Amid the silly rhyming combinations, which will entertain young readers, Kaplan s message is clear: If these different creatures can get along, shouldn t humans with less significant differences be able to get along, too? The author s rhyming text flows smoothly and offers an assortment of creatures that children will enjoy.

Bring your good manners and don't be a beast. Let's Eat Together by Reid Kaplan is an adorable book for children that tackles the topic of healthy eating along with the concept of accepting differences in others and getting along with them. The forest animals are joining together to have a meal. Mr. Dog, Mrs. Cat, Senor Bird, Monsieur Frog, Sam the rabbit, the wolf, and a lamb come sit together and eat. There is also a dragonfly, a porcupine, a grizzly bear, a daddy goat, a mamma pig, and many others. Everyone is invited to join the feast and come with their good manners. All the animals get along well, though they think different and look different from each other. The concept of the story is a relevant topic and I like the author's approach to it; simple and entertaining. The illustrations by Ambadi Kumar are amazing and they make the concept clear to young readers. The images are bright and cheerful and will draw readers into the story. The book encourages friendship and good manners, irrespective of being from different backgrounds. It is a good book for classroom storytelling and read aloud sessions, and tutors and educators will find it easy to help their students understand the concept of accepting others even though they are different.Storybooks like this with a good concept and those with good messages, thoughts, and ideas are recommended for children while growing up, and parents can use these books at home to teach good values and concepts to kids.
