If your child freezes at a times-table grid, crumbles into wobblies, or dramatically declares, "I CAN'T DO THIS!" — this book is your new secret weapon.
Created by mum, artist, and graphic designer Julia Nova, this isn't another grey worksheet workbook.
It's a fully illustrated, laugh-out-loud times-tables adventure led by Brainy, your child's goofy "times-tables buddy," who teaches them how to remember facts instead of endlessly chanting them.
And here's the best part:
Children don't just practise times tables here…
They actually learn how to remember them — for life.
While rote learning worked for some of us growing up, we now understand that real confidence with times tables takes more than repetition alone. Using rhymes, mini-stories, and bold visuals, the method taps into the right side of the brain — the place that loves pictures, patterns, humour and emotion — so multiplication finally sticks in long-term memory.
Inspired by techniques used by memory champions and medical students (dual coding, chunking, peg systems, memory palaces), everything is simplified beautifully for young learners.
What Makes This Method Different
Real learning happens when the brain is relaxed, engaged, and having fun — not when a child is stressed or overwhelmed.
That's why this book uses:
- Visual memory magic — quirky illustrations that glue facts into place
- Right-brain learning tricks — rhymes, patterns, stories, silly associations
- Humour + emotion — because when kids laugh, they remember
- Dual coding — pictures + words = automatic recall
- Confidence loops — one success makes the next fact easier
This is the opposite of rote learning. It's learning through imagination — the way children naturally think.
Inside, Your Child Will Discover
- Colourful stories & characters that make tricky facts unforgettable
- Memory-boosting tricks based on real cognitive science
- Humour and surprises that take the fear out of maths
- Right-brain tools: visuals, rhymes, patterns, skip-counting shortcuts
- Confidence-building practice that never feels like drills
- Times tables taught in simple, friendly steps
- A reusable memory method they can later apply to spelling, science, dates & more
By the time they reach the 9× table, most children realise they already know almost every fact.
And the best part? It sticks!
Why This Method Works
- Pictures are remembered 7× better than words
- Stories activate long-term memory pathways
- Humour releases dopamine — the brain's "memory glue"
- Rhymes replay automatically in the mind
Your child isn't "bad at maths." They just needed a method that finally makes sense.
Why This Book Stands Out
- It's NOT a drills workbook.
- It teaches the method, not just the answers.
- It uses right-brain, child-friendly techniques proven by cognitive science.
- It's written by a mum who lived the struggle and solved it.
- It makes learning memorable, joyful, and stress-free.
Perfect For
- Children who struggle with rote learning
- Parents who want calmer homework times (finally!)
- Visual, creative, wiggly-brained learners
- Ages 7–11
- Homeschooling families
- Teachers wanting proven, engaging memory tools
The Result?
- Less stress.
- More smiles.
- Stronger memory.
- Happier maths.
Watch the times tables finally click, stick, and stay for life.

In 2002, World of Books Group was founded on an ethos to do good, protect the planet and support charities by enabling more goods to be reused. Since then, we've grown into to a global company pioneering the circular economy. Today, we drive the circular economy through three re-commerce brands: - Wob: Through Wob, we sell. We provide affordable, preloved books and media to customers all over the world. A book leaves our collection of over seven million titles and begins a new chapter every two seconds, enabling more goods to be reused. - Ziffit: Through Ziffit, we buy. We give people around the world the opportunity to contribute to the circular economy, earn money and protect the planet, by trading their unwanted books and media. - Shopiago: Through Shopiago, we help others. By sharing the technology that has grown World of Books Group into the business it is today, we’re helping charities increase revenue and reduce waste through re-commerce.…
