In 1983, the first edition of Easy Death appeared to wide acclaim. Many people in the professions associated with death and dying expressed their immense appreciation, and the book was hailed by death-and-dying pioneer Elizabeth Kübler-Ross as a masterpiece. The second edition of the book was published in 1991, bringing together more of Avatar Adi Das remarkable Wisdom about death given in the years since the first edition. As Adi Da Samraj essentially retired from active verbal Instruction in April 2000, this third edition of Easy Death stands as a summary communication of His Teaching on matters of life and death.
The contents of this new edition draw from both previous editions, from new Talks and Writings, and from the remarkable stories of Avatar Adi Das Spiritual Work with the living and the dying that has continued without cease since the second edition. The volume also contains several excerpts from Avatar Adi Das principal Source-Text, The Dawn Horse Testament Of The Ruchira Avatar, on the question of death. And perhaps the most significant additions to the third edition are the sections describing Avatar Adi Das own direct consideration and experience relative of the esoteric process of death and Realization.
If you are open to the Blessing that flows through the pages of Easy Death, you will find yourself drawn into a heart-conversation as alive and intimate as any secret exchange between Guru and disciple in ancient times.

About the Author
When Adi Da Samraj was born, in New York in 1939, He was completely aware of His Divine Condition. He existed only as this Radiant State, full of Love-Bliss, and named it the "Bright". Around the age of two years, in a spontaneous gesture of Love toward those around Him, He relinquished the enjoyment of the "Bright" and identified with the self-contracted state of ordinary beings. This initiated an unprecendented ordeal of relentless investigation into the Nature of Reality. Adi Da fully embraced and freely investigated all manner of human experience, high and low, in order to Re-Awaken to the "Bright". And He did so in order to discover how to draw all beings to that Perfect Condition of Love-Bliss. The crux of Adi Das Teaching-Argument is this: each of us already inheres in the Divine Condition of Perfect Love-Blisshowever, each of us is actively presuming that we are inherently separate from this Condition, and from all others. Adi Da Reveals that this is a false presumptionan illusion based on our identification with a mortal body-mind, rather than on the True and Non-Separate Divine Condition. The transcendence of this error (and all the suffering that attends it) is absolutely necessary for real and lasting Happiness.
From his birth (on Long Island, New York, in 1939), Adi Da Samraj has always manifested unique signs of spiritual illumination and of artistic and literary inspiration. Today, he is seen by a number of people worldwide as an avataras the Divine Heart-Master, the Very Incarnation of Truth Itself.
After having earned a BA from Columbia University and an MA from Stanford University, Adi Da began a period of intensive practice under a succession of spiritual masters in the United States and India. Eventually, in 1970, after a final period of intense spiritual endeavor, Adi Da spontaneously became reestablished in the continuous state of illumination that was his unique condition at birthand that re-awakening signaled the end of his thirty years of spiritual quest. In 1972, he began to teach in living dialogue, creating a vast repository of wisdom.
To date, his literary, philosophical, and practical writings consist of over sixty published books (The Knee of Listening, Easy Death, and My Bright Word among his most popular). Many of his discourses are also available on DVD and CD from The Dawn Horse Press.
Since 1998, he has created a massive body of artwork using the media of photography, videography, and digital technology. He states that his intention as an artist is to offer a visual communication of the truth of "Reality Itself. His collateral exhibition at the 52nd Biennale di Venezia (2007), Transcendental Realism, marks the first time his work is being shown to the public at large.
