The rare fourth edition only two years after the first edition, with the same arresting artwork on the front board in gilt of a rocket being shot out of a mountain toward the moon, the eruption, rocket, moon and stars all in gilt on a black and crimson background. Ornate illustrated spine in gilt black and maroon. Some edgewear to spine. Illustrations complete including frontispiece with tissue paper of the projectile approaching the moon. All edges in heavy gilt. A sumptuous and rare early edition.
