The brothers (Pip by adoption) acquire their own spaceship, encounter odd alien civilizations, hunt dinosaurs with their alien friends, and in an encounter with Insectoid pirates are accidentally sucked through a wormhole. While lost in an even stranger part of space, Tom and Pip must rely on each other to avoid an evil empire and find another wormhole to get home.
