About the book >.>.> A companion volume to Axed Between the EarsEdited by David KitchenEvery poem in Earshot has been tested to destruction by at least fiftyII-14 year-olds. Every poem has been chosen because it grabs you immediately, but also because it is worth going back to and reading again and thinkingabout. The poems are by many of the best of today's writers: Michael Rosen, EveMerriam, Brian Patten, Charles Causley, Roger McGough. James Berry.Grace Nichols and Edwin Morgan, with some traditional rhymes and riddiesmixed in.The poems are loosely grouped with themes so that you can look at two ormore poems together or one at a time, and there are some activities suggestingunusual ways of looking at poems and of beginning to write your own.
