'A detailed study of Market Rasen during the 1850s, examining the town's inhabitants, occupations, buildings, institutions and social and economic life. This substantially revised edition incorporates additional research, reminiscences and extensive contemporary illustration.' The book measures 11¾ x 8¼ inches, it has x + 126 pages and is extensively illustrated in black and white with photographs, maps, drawings, diagrams, statistical/data charts and reproductions of contemporary ephemera. This copy was the property of Lincolnshire author Rex C. Russell and has his signature on the front cover. There is a vertical mark on the inner edge of the title page where a press cutting has been removed, otherwise, the covers and contents are in excellent condition VG++.
